I decided to try my hand at writing poetry in late 1985 due to my interest in Latin poetry. I found that trying to emulate the classical greats was no easy feat (and still isn't.) Yet I enjoyed the manner of which I could put my
feelings and emotions down on paper, and thus I haven't given up and still try to let my pen express myself. The result is what you now hold in your hand. These are (almost) all of my (attempts at) poetry and song-writing. They date from the beginning of my junior year in high school to the end of my sophomore year at college. These are divided into four parts:
Old poems, which includes my first efforts at poetry;
Black Series Untitled, expressing my feelings after a very close girlfriend left for college; and two sections which are reflections of experiences of my two years at college. '88 on (to be added)
